Junior/Medior Investment Risk Manager - Private Markets

We aim to avoid unnecessary risks, so we invest responsibly. Risk Analysis focuses on the financial risks of our investments in private markets. PGGM manages over €240 billion, with approximately 25% invested in private asset classes. The impact and versatility in this role are significant. By being involved in the entire investment process of various private asset classes, you get to understand the entire investment chain, both in terms of execution and investment policy.

The team is involved in asset classes such as Infrastructure, Private Equity, Private Real Estate, Credit Risk Sharing, and Insurance Linked Investments. Each team member focuses on at least two asset classes. It's explicitly possible for you to broaden your expertise to other asset categories alongside your existing experience, providing an interesting and varied role.

A week in the Risk Analysis team is always dynamic. You are closely involved in investments, allowing you to have the opportunity to make an impact. One day you might be discussing the largest financial risks with your Risk colleagues for a new deal, and the next day you could be contributing to a project on climate risks. Colleagues regularly approach you with questions, either about ESG risks or on how the investment aligns with the pension fund's objectives.

You will join the Risk Analysis team: a collegial, social, and close-knit team of 12 dedicated and driven risk colleagues who collectively determine priorities. Colleagues support each other's professional growth, facilitated by the team manager whom you can always rely on. The team values interpersonal contact, organizing team outings and drinks.

You excel in assessing and mapping risks, being meticulous, transparent, and carefully weighing interests. You have no trouble sifting through extensive information and distinguishing between essential and less important aspects. Moreover, you easily connect with others and willingly collaborate to provide support.

You have:

• An academic background (for example in quantitative finance, business administration, Finance, Economics, engineering, or corporate finance).  FRM, CFA, or the intention to complete one of the last two qualifications, is a plus. 
• Strong analytical skills.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in civil engineering, asset management, (financial) consultancy firm, for example, as a project manager, consultant or risk manager.
• Experience with infrastructure, Risk management or (private)transactions is advantageous.
