Climate Growth Equity Intern

The PGGM CETS team welcomes enthusiastic interns to join us for a three month period starting in February or March 2026. You will contribute to our mission to accelerate the climate and energy transition through growth capital and private equity investments.

Please note this vacancy closes on December 11. First round interviews will take place on December 15 and 16, with second round interviews on December 17 and 19.

As an intern you will:

• Support all phases of the investment process, from market research and sourcing to due diligence, valuation, execution, and portfolio company support.
• Gain hands-on experience in analysing high-growth companies focused on climate and energy solutions, building financial models, and preparing investment materials.
• Work closely with a small and fast-growing team, and engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including founders, advisors, and like-minded-investors.

The Climate and Energy Transition Solutions (CETS) team manages a dedicated €1 billion investment mandate launched by PGGM in 2024. The strategy focuses on European growth capital and direct private equity investments in companies that enable or benefit from the climate and energy transition.

CETS invests across six investment themes:

• Green energy & electrification
• Grid solutions
• Circularity
• Smart cities & energy efficiency
• Sustainable fuels
• Carbon solutions

The CETS team currently consists of four investment professionals and has already invested in five high-growth companies. The fast-growing team is entrepreneurial, impact-driven, and focused on combining financial performance with measurable climate impact.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills; academic background in business, economics, finance, STEM or related fields preferred
• Broadly developed through extracurriculars such as internships, committee roles, entrepreneurship, top-level sports or volunteering
• Curious, hands-on, internationally oriented, and eager to work on climate solutions
• Enrolled at or recently graduated from a Dutch university
• Fluent in English; Dutch is not required

• A full-time internship with a steep learning curve in a dynamic and mission-driven investment team;
• Exposure to impactful investments that support the climate and energy transition across Europe;
• The opportunity to contribute to the pensions of 4.3 million participants;
• An internship allowance of €1016 per month, travel cost reimbursement, and a work-from-home allowance (~€70/month);
• Possibility of a full-time Analyst offer in case of excellent performance.

Case interview + final interview: between 17 and 19 December

Final decision: end of day on 19 December
