DevOps Engineer IM IT - Public Markets
Your role
You start your week with a stand-up with the team. First, we talk about the weekend before diving back into the work ahead for this week.
A team member with a support request asks you to stay on a bit longer to help resolve an incident in the Bloomberg interface.
Besides development, you also get energy from ad hoc operational work, and you give your colleague a virtual high five once the issue is solved.
The rest of the morning, you work intensively on your project tasks for the cloud migration of an essential software platform for the investment chain. You coordinate with vendors to get an interface set up and running.
Because you’re working from home today, you can really focus and make progress.
After lunch, you have a meeting with the project team. You’re truly making progress with the MVP and working toward next week’s presentation to the business. You feel proud to have contributed.
Last week, you shared the test results of an investment optimization model with a user. To iron out the last details, you give each other a quick call via Teams.
During the call, she also explains their investment process, which not only helps to finalize the user story but also boosts your investment knowledge. This way, you’ll be able to support the user faster in the future. A win-win!
You spend the last hour of the workday on a new adjustment to the system setup and test it before offering it back to the user.
Tomorrow, you’ll be working together with the team again at the office in Zeist. It’s great that PGGM gives so much freedom to work in a hybrid way and organize your own working hours.
Your department
Within IM IT, about 90 colleagues work together, bringing a diversity of backgrounds, expertise, and experience. We are responsible for developing and executing the integrated change agenda for PGGM’s asset management chain. We do this by working with the product owner to translate the change agenda into implementable solutions. In doing so, we ensure consistency and the integrity of asset management processes, systems, and the organization.
IM IT consists of seven DevOps teams, including the IM IT DevOps team Public Markets & TPM. You will become the DevOps Engineer for this team. You will develop and maintain solutions that support investors in their daily activities. Within the teams, we work Agile according to the DevOps concept. Change requests from the departments that execute and monitor investments are submitted through the Product Owner (PO) and prioritized for the IT team. A defining characteristic of this DevOps team is the diversity of competencies, which enables it to analyze, design, and implement many types of changes. In addition, we are responsible for the continuity of PGGM Asset Management’s various systems, as well as system stability and security. We actively contribute ideas on how the systems, data flows, and process landscape should be structured.
