Great opportunity to join the Credit Risk Sharing (CRS) mandate that is recognised globally as a leading investor in balance sheet securitisation / significant risk transfer (SRT) – currently one of the fastest-growing private credit asset classes.
The CRS mandate manages circa € 7 billion worldwide. The team structures transactions directly with leading banks to participate in the credit risk of their core lending portfolios.
Your role
The Analyst Credit Risk Sharing role is a very interesting position for a high performing early-career professional, who is up for a steep learning curve with an immediate focus on unique investments within a large asset manager. You will be working in a midsize international team of experienced investment specialists. Your role will be to work closely with the investment professionals and learn on the job.
Your job consists of:
- Activities related to analysis of new transactions, mostly with parties outside of The Netherlands. This includes qualitative and quantitative due diligence of the counterparty and the transaction structure.
- Analyses of the portfolio, providing high-quality insights and reports to support the management of the team’s portfolios;
- Monitoring performance of a selection of existing investments;
- Understanding the back-bone of the mandates through supporting day-to-day operations of the mandates;
From day one you will be involved with the Credit Risk Sharing mandate. The starting point is to gain familiarity with the nature of the transactions and the workings of the portfolio. As you gain more knowledge and experience, your responsibilities will expand. For example, you will be monitoring existing investments and become part of deal teams responsible for new investment opportunities. In this role you work closely with different departments within PGGM, such as Investment Risk Analysis, Performance and the Back Office.

There are 19 team members working on Credit Risk Sharing with a range of professional backgrounds and nationalities. Our team includes several accomplished women and men, who are committed to mentoring and supporting new team members.
Jouw achtergrond
The Credit Risk Sharing mandate is considered an alternative asset class and therefore we do not expect candidates to have direct prior experience (although any related experience will be an advantage). However, we do require interest in bespoke investment structuring, credit risk, securitisation and banking and the ability to understand and analyse complex investment structures. Most importantly, you are very curious by nature, eager to learn, precise and good with numbers.
The ideal candidate:
- Has a master’s degree with excellent grades;
- We are open to candidates with a variety of academic backgrounds, ranging from strongly quantitative such as Econometrics or Mathematics to more qualitative such as Corporate Finance or Law;
- Has strong analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative, and is a fast learner;
- Likes intellectual challenges, is able to get to the essence of complex matters quickly and explain it in simple terms to others;
- Is pro-active, precise and has strong attention to detail;
- Has strong Word skills and advanced Excel skills. Further programming skills are considered an advantage;
- has an open, reflective personality and is a strong communicator and cooperative team player;
- Is fluent in spoken and written English;
- Experience in and/or affinity with sustainability is considered a plus;
- Relevant work experience (up to 5 years) in the investment or banking industry is considered a plus and can lead to being hired at Associate level;
