Your job as an Investment Risk Manager 

We aim to avoid unnecessary risks, so we invest responsibly. Investment Risk Analysis focuses on the financial risks of our investments in private markets. PGGM manages over €260 billion, with approximately 25% invested in private asset classes. The team functions as a countervailing power to the front office of private markets. The impact and versatility in this role are significant.  

The team is involved in asset classes such as Infrastructure, Private Equity, Private Real Estate, Credit Risk Sharing, and Insurance Linked Investments. Each team member focuses on at least two asset classes. It's explicitly possible for you to broaden your expertise to other asset categories alongside your existing experience, providing an interesting and varied role. 

A week in the Risk Analysis team is always dynamic. You are closely involved in investments, allowing you to have the opportunity to make an impact. One day you might be discussing the largest financial risks with your front office colleagues for a new deal, and the next day you could be contributing to a project on climate risks. Colleagues regularly approach you with questions, either about ESG risks or on how the investment aligns with the pension fund's objectives.

You will join the Investment Risk Analysis team: a collegial, social, and close-knit team of 8 dedicated and driven risk colleagues who collectively determine priorities. You excel in assessing and mapping risks, being meticulous, transparent, and carefully weighing interests. You have no trouble sifting through extensive information and distinguishing between essential and ancillary aspects. Moreover, you easily connect with others and willingly collaborate to provide support. You have: 

• An academic background (in quantitative finance, business administration, Finance, Economics, engineering, or corporate finance), possibly supplemented with FRM, CFA, or the intention to complete one of the last two qualifications; 
• Strong analytical skills; 
•  Minimum of 4 years work experience at an asset manager, bank, , (financial) consultancy firm, for example, as a project manager, risk manager, or risk consultant; 
• Experience with credit risk, real estate, risk management or (private)transactions is advantageous; 
• Experience with complex risk models is advantageous.

• A gross monthly salary in scale 16 or 17 between 5.722 and 9.732 based on 36 hours, depending on your knowledge and experience.
