Senior Portfolio Analyst - Listed Real Estate
As senior portfolio analyst you will be responsible for the day-to-day portfolio management operations and you will become the team’s linking pin within the PGGM organization as you will work with colleagues from other departments such as the Trading desk, Treasury desk, Back Office, Data Management and Innovation DataLab.
In this position you will be responsible for ensuring a “no issues” portfolio management proposition. Furthermore, you will be responsible to oversee and manage the portfolio optimization process in cooperation with team members. Our portfolio optimization process forms the core of our investment approach.
You will also be mandated (1) to lay-out and enrich the team’s portfolio insights and analysis, (2) to efficiently monitor the listed real estate portfolio in terms of performance, risk and compliance and (3) to share ideas to further improve the team’s investment process based on proprietary thinking and analysis. In this context you will actively explore and add innovative and creative ideas to portfolio analytics (for instance, the design and monitoring of factor/style/thematic portfolios to gain more in-depth insights in performance and risk trends).
Simultaneously, you will collaboratively - jointly with the lead ESG and quantitative analyst - be responsible for supercharging Data Analytics and Responsible Investment into an integrated competitive advantage in our portfolio management process. You will be involved in the idea generation through interaction with team members, other PGGM teams and external stakeholders (sell-side, peers, portfolio companies) and you are mandated to integrate “best ideas” into the portfolio management and construction process. In this context communication, collaboration and knowledge sharing are crucial and you act as full-fledged sparring partner and thought leader on portfolio management and construction. As the senior portfolio analyst your responsibility also includes the quality assurance and continuous quality improvement throughout the entire listed real estate investment chain to ensure a best-in-class proposition.
The Listed Real Estate (LRE) department manages a global portfolio of listed real estate investments. The LRE team consists of 12 professionals and is part of PGGM’s Private Markets platform. PGGM is one of the largest global investors in this sector and the portfolio is actively managed internally with the objective to outperform the benchmark. The team’s investment style focuses on market positioning and stock selection. Fundamentally driven investment models to analyse real estate markets and companies are at the core of the team’s investment process. While financial return is the first priority, the LRE team is proud to be recognized as an industry leader in the field of ESG, as we proactively engage with the real estate companies and industry and strive for continuous improvement on a range of topics we deem material. To enhance our industry leading position and competitive edge, the LRE team introduced her innovation arm, “LRE Labs”, which is in the process of developing a data infrastructure, data visualization dashboards and innovate proprietary model framework/ toolkit. The Listed Real Estate team is looking to hire a senior portfolio analyst to safeguard business continuity in the portfolio monitoring, to further enhance portfolio analytics and insights and to contribute to supercharging Responsible Investment and Data Analytics into competitive capabilities. Team play is of pivotal importance in this dynamic and vibrant environment, and our work field is diverse and intellectually demanding.
- Approximately 7-10 years of relevant experience in a portfolio management role
- Advanced/ Master degree in a quantitative or finance field;
- Structured, accurate way of working to efficiently plan your time and prioritize projects in a dynamic environment;
- Demonstrated proficiency of Simcorp Dimension, Factset, Power BI and SQL;
- Innovative and creative self-starter, with strong analytical capabilities;
- Team player with excellent communication skills and getting “things done”-mentality;
- Experience in the real estate industry, responsible investment or data science is advantageous.
